This single-use device provides surgeons with a precise and foolproof delivery system for placing a stent into a patient’s coronary artery. Research showed that some surgeons prefer to hold the applicator in their hand like a remote control, while others place it on the operating table during a procedure, controlling it like a computer mouse. Our unique design solution combined these two disparate modes of operation within a very simple and cost-effective device.
